Here a new poem seeing all the Christmas stuff going on the shelves.
The last days of Summer are here, kids are back to school.
Mums and Dads sigh the cost of clothes and equipment is high.
The supermarkets are stacking the shelves with Christmas goods and elves!
Wait what about Halloween, that will be all out soon, a one day festival, a quicker turn around not such a boon like Christmas brings.
A supermarket ploy not to bring you Christmas joy but to eke out the sales to entice the shoppers early, this tactic never fails!
Do not get me wrong with my cynical tone of phrase, I enjoy the Christmas lead up with sparkly lights, with Christmas movies and tunes as I get older I just yearn for the Christmases of my childhood days.
A collection of poems and thoughts by Wendi Coles.
