New Year’s Clean Slate 2025
A clean slate opens, the year begins,
I look back with sadness on what has been.
Moments once held, now faded, now gone,
Yet forward I march, where life carries on.
Stepping out, I greet the day,
New horizons stretch far away.
Opportunities beckon, roads unknown,
A chance to grow, to be fully my own.
I feel the strength, my body aligned,
Fit, healthy, and clear of mind.
With hope in my heart for peace worldwide,
For a world where love and calm reside.
To know my neighbours, to open the door,
To reconnect with those from before.
Old bonds revived, hearts grown strong,
A melody, a long-lost song.
Perhaps a journey, a holiday new,
A moment to rest, to dream, to renew.
A brand new me, a soul reborn,
With the promise of each rising dawn.
The year begins, with hope in its thread,
A path to walk, where I choose to be led.
A collection of poems and thoughts by Wendi Coles.
