It was a rainy night; I was off to the pub,
The Clifden Arms, so full of charms.
A carol concert was taking place,
David the vicar was there; also Grace,
Taking her place on the keyboard.
The room was full of folk from near and far,
Not me—I haven’t got a car,
But I live quite near.
Some friends of old and new were there;
The room was full.
I don’t remember being in the same room
With so many folk. David the Vicar gave a talk.
The carols started; we had such fun.
The voices rang out like an angel’s throng.
My heart was full to be a part of this place.
Many thanks go out to David and Grace.
